Do you treat adults, as well?
Yes. I provide a safe and empathic setting to work with the client in understanding their personal and presenting symptoms. Whether the client has panic attacks, depression, or an anxiety disorder, I use research based treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, to help alleviate the symptoms and improve the client’s quality of life. I work in collaboration with the client, as a team, to create goals that will foster inter-personal growth so that symptoms are alleviated or stabilized.
I feel like my whole family needs therapy! Is that possible?
Absolutely! Family therapy can be extremely powerful in many ways. I help families to examine how they communicate and determine what in their family is working and what needs improvement. Is communication verbalized or unspoken in your family? How are communication patterns established in your family and are they easily changed? I work with families to provide the atmosphere for insight and change regarding family dynamics.
What types of treatment do you offer?
Treatment options include: Behavioral modification Cognitive behavioral therapy Play Therapy and Art therapy Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Family Therapy Biofeedback
How often and for how long will I need therapy?
This is a question that has no standard answer. Treatment duration depends on symptoms that are presented and the situation at hand. Once all information is obtained, the client and therapist choose a course of treatment. Weekly sessions are usually made, although sometimes symptoms are more severe, and the client will need more intense intervention. Also, sometimes symptoms are less severe, and a longer period of time between sessions is appropriate.
